Treatment of Visual Problems for Patients with Brain Injury & Stroke
Description: Patients with brain injury or stroke frequently manifest visual disturbances. These can interfere with balance, mobility, interpretations of space, use of a computer, reading, and various tasks of daily function. This webinar will review the most common visual disturbances seen with brain injury and stroke patients. Assessment tools will be shared. Attendees will learn strategies to address the most common visual disturbances on a basic level and where to obtain tools to assist with treatment.
Objectives: Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Define visual disturbances associated with brain injury or stroke
- Describe visual screening and other assessment tools
- Discuss strategies for therapeutic interventions to address visual impairments
