Webinar Description: As the number of individuals living with dementia from Alzheimer’s disease continues to increase, there is a need for lifestyle approaches that are focused on prevention and wellness in older adults at-risk for dementia. This webinar will provide an overview of counseling+ activities that can be delivered by healthcare professionals to support older adults at-risk for dementia. Counseling+ activities go beyond traditional assessment and treatment approaches and focus on counseling, collaboration, prevention and wellness. This webinar will provide ideas for providing brain health and dementia education to older adults as well as ideas for collaboration across professions.

Learner Outcomes: Upon completion of this webinar, participants will be able to:  

  1. Describe differences between mild cognitive impairment, dementia and
    Alzheimer’s disease.
  2. Summarize counseling+ techniques for dementia risk reduction and promoting healthy lifestyles.
  3. Apply strategies to enhance interdisciplinary care for Alzheimer’s disease.

Successful Completion: Participants will be present during the live webinar in its entirety and complete an attendance verification and assessment in the Academy Learning Portal within one month of the live air date.
