Aphasia research brain imaging

Body

嫩B研究院 shows that people with aphasia can continue to improve their language even years after their stroke, and that intensive therapy is essential for making changes in the brain.

At the Center, highly-trained specialists are investigating new ways of delivering ongoing aphasia treatment, based on innovations in brain science and learning theory.

Our studies provide intensive aphasia treatment for up to 6 weeks. Several studies feature state-of-the-art computer technology, using a virtual therapist to deliver intensive therapy. Therapy can be done independently in the participant’s home.

Our research examines different learning models as well as the adjunctive use of brain stimulation techniques such as Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation (tDCS). Some studies have used imaging technology to guide treatment or examine changes in the brain after treatment.

No computer skills are necessary to participate.
