Rehabilitation of Sleep

Description: In the course of rehabilitation from trauma and neurological disorders, sleep is critical. Sleep dysfunction can have a negative impact on rehab outcomes, length of stay, and the rate and extent of recovery following injury or illness. This webinar will examine frequent sleep disorders and deficits in individuals requiring rehabilitation, as well as how these impairments affect daily living, cognitive function, and physical recovery. In addition to discussing the unique roles of the team in recognizing and treating sleep dysfunction and disorder, best practices for assessment and management of sleep for both acute and chronic conditions will be reviewed.

  • Identify the prevalence of sleep dysfunction in typical rehabilitation diagnoses.
  • Analyze the relationship between physical and cognitive impairment and sleep

  • Describe evidence-based assessment and interventions for sleep.
