The Youth Adaptive Sports Summer Camp is a dynamic program for youth between the ages of 6 and 18 years who have a primary physical disability and are independent in their daily living skills. Summer camp offers outdoor and indoor adaptive sports and hands-on recreational activities.
The program is designed to foster a positive quality of life among youth with physical disabilities by promoting physical fitness, independence, socialization, activity, and adaptive programming resources. When and where does summer camp meet?
The camp runs Monday-Friday, 9:30AM-3PM. Summer camp activities occur at locations throughout Chicago.
Is food provided at camp?
Yes, Youth Adaptive Sports Summer Camp does provide daily camp lunches. Please note any dietary restrictions or safety issues on the registration form. Camp-goers may bring a lunch with them if they choose, snacks and beverages may be provided at certain programs.
How do I qualify for Caring for Kids Summer Cam
Participants must be between 6-18 years old and be independent in his or her skills of daily living such as toileting and feeding. If a child is not independent, the family is asked to provide an aide or caregiver of adult age to provide direct assistance to the child.
How do I sign up for camp?
All campers must be registered with the Youth Adaptive Sports program. For more information on registration visit our registration page.
Once all required registration paperwork has been completed and submitted, your child will be able to sign up for Youth Adaptive Sports events, including Summer Camp.
Registration is not the same as enrollment. Enrollment in Summer Camp and other Youth Adaptive Sports programs is not guaranteed - all programs enroll on a First Come, First Served basis.
Enrollments will be confirmed by the program specialist.
Do you provide transportation?
Youth Adaptive Sports provides limited transportation for kids living within the City of Chicago. For more on the Transportation Policy, contact Pierre Nealon at pnealon@sralab.org.
