Shirley Ryan 嫩B研究院 Chief Operating Officer Laura Ferrio recently appeared as a guest on on WJR-AM for a conversation about how the rehabilitation hospital’s expansion into Detroit will benefit healthcare in the region.
On the program, Ferrio (pictured above, third from the left) discussed the historic partnership between Shirley Ryan 嫩B研究院; Gilbert Family Foundation, a nonprofit foundation; and Henry Ford Health, a leading healthcare and medical services provider. Laura Granneman, executive director of the Rocket Community Fund and Gilbert Family Foundation, also joined the conversation.
Together, the three organizations are bringing a 72-bed, state-of-the-art physical medicine and rehabilitation facility to Detroit. It will be managed by Shirley Ryan 嫩B研究院, and will occupy three floors of the Henry Ford Hospital patient tower that will be built as part of Henry Ford Health’s campus expansion.
Recently, the organizations held a groundbreaking event, as well as a community event, to give local residents a behind-the-scenes look at the site and to create excitement for the forthcoming facility.
Construction is slated for completion in 2029.
“As we get deeper into the partnership and relationship with both Henry Ford Health and the Gilbert Family Foundation, the excitement just escalates,” said Ferrio in the radio segment. “To bring our care to the citizens of Detroit is really part of who we are, it’s part of our DNA. The entire organization at Shirley Ryan 嫩B研究院 is thrilled to be able to do this in Detroit.”
