About Me

Kristin Garlanger, DO is board-certified in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R) and Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) Medicine. Dr. Garlanger completed her residency in PM&R in 2016 at the Mayo Clinic and remained on staff through 2023 before returning to the Chicagoland area. In her early career at Mayo Clinic, she was committed to resident education, research in High Intensity Interval Training in patients with paraplegia and developed specialty clinics including Adaptive Sports. 

Dr. Garlanger joined the Shirley Ryan Ability Lab Staff in 2024. She currently sees a wide variety of patients in both the Outpatient and Day Rehab settings at the Burr Ridge location, including individuals with neurological and musculoskeletal conditions. She delivers expert care for those with spinal cord injury. She provides spasticity interventions including botulinum toxin injections and baclofen pump management in the adult population.
