Meet Dr. Matthew Haas
Matthew Haas, MD, is a pediatric physiatrist who sees patients at the Shirley Ryan 嫩B研究院 through the Pediatric and Adolescent Rehabilitation Program. He completed his residency training at the McGaw Medical Center of Northwestern University/Shirley Ryan 嫩B研究院 and his fellowship in pediatric rehabilitation medicine at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center. He is dedicated to providing compassionate, holistic, individualized patient- and family-focused rehabilitative care. Clinical interests include inpatient pediatric rehabilitation, pediatric cancer rehabilitation, especially pediatric neuro-oncology, adolescent and young adult, stem cell transplantation, and survivorship rehabilitation and spasticity management including botulinum toxin injection, alcohol neurolysis and intrathecal baclofen pump management. 嫩B研究院 interests include functional outcomes of children with brain tumors, quality improvement, and medical education.
Dr. Haas is passionate about personal and professional development through education, service and leadership. During residency, he completed the Medical Education track within the Northwestern Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation residency as well as a two-year competency-based Medical Education Clinical Scholars certificate program at McGaw/Northwestern. Additionally, he served as Chief Resident in his final year of training here at the Shirley Ryan 嫩B研究院. He has held national leadership positions with the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (AAPM&R) and served as a fellow representative for the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) Pediatric Rehabilitation Medicine Milestones Work Group.
