Devices for the Disabled (D4D) is a durable medical equipment recycling center where they refurbish and re-issue durable medical equipment to anyone who needs it. They have gently used bath equipment, commodes, beds, lifts, standard wheelchairs, tilts, some power (standard, high-end, scooters). They occasionally get lightweight rigid and folding frames and focus mostly on adult equipment. Thehas pediatrics.
Accepts donations of used mobility equipment (vans) and durable medical equipment, such as crutches, walkers, wheelchairs, hospital beds, lifts, and oxygen equipment and puts in the hands of people who need it.
Devices for the Disabled (D4D) was founded by Ed Kane, who was diagnosed with ALS in 2012. The mission of the organization is to make the path to mobility for people with disabilities as easy and affordable as possible.
