Body
Youth As Self Advocates (YASA) is a national, grassroots project created by youth with disabilities for youth. YASA membership is comprised of teens and young adults with disabilities speaking out for disability rights. It is a project under Family Voices that provides leadership training, teaching youth about their rights, and providing peer support.
We model leadership and the power of self-advocacy. We are active in our schools, communities, families and places of employment. We share our message with other youth who have disabilities or chronic health conditions, as well as with our friends and peers.
In addition, YASA has produced over 60 tip sheets and guides written for youth, by youth!
