The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effects of the Variable Friction shoe on gait in individuals with chronic stroke and foot drop. During each 12-week phase of an AB-BA clinical trial, participants will walk for at least 30-45 minutes per day for at least 5 days per week at home.

The researchers will focus on variability in depressed mood and quality of life among stroke survivors, and social support, a protective factor with a potential buffering effect on daily function and mood.

This study aims to recognize, identify, and evaluate the trajectory recovery and abilities of a person who has had a stroke and living with cognitive-communication challenges and their respective quality of life.
